The government has decided to bring 461 workers home from Kuwait due to many problems they have to face in the foreign country.

“Of the number, 60 have been sent home. [We] are preparing for the other departures,” Subhan, spokesman of the Human Resources and Transmigration Ministry, told journalist in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, as quoted by Antara news agency.

Subhan said that the government would stop sending workers to Kuwait until the local government provided better condition for the workers.

He said that Indonesian workers in Kuwait have to deal with low wages, unpaid insurance, unlimited work hours and also violence issues.

“There are many Indonesians who are interested to work in Kuwait, but the local government there has to solve these problems first.
