The US-China trade conflict is loomingaccording to a columnist for the Korea Herald because for the first time in the 63-year-old GATT/WTO regime, the US is seeing a trade rival that is both ready and willing to challenge any notion of the US hegemony. The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, concluded its annual session Saturday (March 13) morning with Premier Wen saying that the yuan is "not undervalued", with appreciation rate of 14.5% in last two years, the China Daily reports. In the Philippines, life halted for a while when boxing hero Manny Pacquiao defeated a much bigger Ghanian challenger Joshua Clottey in Cowboys’ Stadium in Arlington, Texas today, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports.
