5.3-magnitude quake jolts Sabang in Aceh

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake shook Sabang in Aceh province on Saturday, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said.

The epicenter of the quake which struck at 2pm was at about 40km northeast of Sabang at a depth of 225 km, Chrismanto, head of the Kotabumi geophysics station in Lampung province, said.

The temblor did not trigger a tsunami, Antara news agency reported.
