Hyundai, Kia in talks with top Myanmar firm

Two of Korea's top automobile companies, Hyundai and Kia, are talking to Myanmar's Diamond Star Co for a possible partnership, according to sources from the business community.
"Discussion is underway to appoint Diamond Star Co as an agent and as far as I know, they will mainly import new cars," said a businessman close to the company.
Diamond Star Co has long been importing automobiles from Japan and South Korea.
Hyundai and Kia cars have a huge potential in the Myanmar auto market due to their world-class quality.
Diamond Star Co is also in the export/import business, food production, medicines and fertilizer, and shopping malls. It recently became the sole agent for American softdrink giant Pepsi Co.
