Earthquake jolts southwest Banda Aceh of Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted southwestern Banda Aceh in Indonesia at 6:18 p.m. yesterday, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
The agency stated on its website that the epicentre was located 440 kilometres away from Banda Aceh, at a depth of 74 kilometres.
The earthquake, the agency reported, did not trigger a tsunami.
