LG refrigerator survives tornado in South Africa
Publication Date : 11-07-2012
SEOUL: LG Electronics said its refrigerator was strong enough to survive a tornado in Deneysville, South Africa, in June. With the tornado causing one death and 14 injuries, local resident Mark Louw was devastated to see his roof-less house and highly damaged car but was surprised to find out his LG-made refrigerator was working as usual, said LG officials. He later sent an email to the Korean firm with a picture of the refrigerator attached to the message and applauded the company’s manufacturing skills, company officials said. “This case proves once again LG refrigerator’s durability and trustworthiness,” said LG’s vice president Lee Jin-moo, who is also the head of the firm’s South Africa branch. “We’ll continuously work to win the hearts of South African consumers with competitive quality.”
