Nepal lawmakers push for Constituent Assembly revival
Publication Date : 06-07-2012
Former lawmakers of Nepal standing in favour of the reinstatement of the Constituent Assembly (CA) are organising a gathering in the capital today to formulate a future strategy.
The joint meeting is scheduled to be held at the Lhotse hall of former CA building.
Altogether 78 former CA members of the Nepali Congress (NC) have formally supported the CA revival idea, according to former NC lawmaker Kiran Yadav.
The Women Caucus of the dissolved assembly has also stepped up meetings to push the agenda of revival.
More than two dozen women lawmakers yesterday organised a programme in the capital and committed that they would not take salaries and perks if the assembly was revived.
