Lost parakeet tells police its Tokyo home address
Publication Date : 23-05-2012
TOKYO: A pet parakeet that escaped from its Japanese home has been reunited with its owner - after it was able to tell police its address. The baby-blue bird flew from its owner's home in Sagamihara, west of Tokyo, into a nearby hotel where it perched on the shoulder of a guest. Its owner, a 64-year-old woman, had lost a pet bird before and was determined to prevent it from happening again - so she taught it to repeat where she lived, right down to the house number. After being caught by police, the bird stayed silent for three days before squawking its address.
