Publication Date : 21-03-2014

Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has ordered all ministers to identify and dismiss under-performing public servants in order to improve the quality of public service in the country.

The PM said on Wednesday that all ministries and localities must maintain discipline in rendering services to the public.

The state agencies should comply with regulations on recruitment, training, assessment, appointment, promotion and salaries of public servants, he said.

In line with this, all ministries of the government were instructed to issue regulations on commendations and rewards for those who detect and denounce wrongdoings in public service.

The PM said the Ministry of Home Affairs would issue a policy to dismiss under-performing public servants.

Public servants whose skills and background are not suitable for their current position and who are not fit for other positions will also be dismissed.
