The popular night time tours of Changdeokgung Palace return in August
The Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation will be hosting “2013 Moonlight Tour at Changdeokgung Palace” from August 21 to October 20.
A Unesco World Heritage site, Changdeokgung Palace is one of the five palaces in Seoul built during the Joseon period.
The programme includes a walk around the palace while learning fun facts with the help of an expert guide. Afterward, participants will be able to watch traditional arts performances while enjoying traditional snacks and beverages. The events take place on days where there is a full moon.
Launched in 2010, the biannual event ― the programme is also offered in spring ― has so far attracted more than 6,200 Korean and 1,500 foreign participants so far. Tickets usually sell out within minutes of ticket opening and the organisers expect the same this time.
Separate tour dates are available for local and foreign visitors. Admission is limited to 100 people per session. Details on exact dates and other information can be found at www.chf.or.kr.
For ticket sales, Korean nationals can go to www.interpark.com while ticket sales for foreigners will be open at ticket.interpark.com/global.
Tickets cost 30,000 won (US$27) per person. Reservations for tickets will open on each respective website starting on August 6 at 2pm.
