Thailand's ReadyPlanet targets Myanmar for Web services
Publication Date : 07-04-2014
ReadyPlanet, a large Thai readymade Web-service provider, aims to grow 50 per cent this year by expanding in emerging services and markets, especially in Myanmar.
CEO Songyot Kanthamanon said last week that the company would launch two services this year - Baidu's online ads and Facebook's ads - while increasing services for its readymade website to help its customers design responsive websites.
The company will take its readymade website to Myanmar, where the online business is expected to grow rapidly. It is forming a team to oversee ReadyMyanmar.com.
ReadyPlanet's core services are readymade websites, online ads, training and online marketing.
Readymade websites and online ads will contribute 40 per cent each to total revenue this year, while online marketing and training will contribute 15 per cent and 5 per cent.
This year, it will continue to sign up new customers with the aim to have more than 4,000 new websites.
The new service called responsive Web design will help customers develop their websites to provide an optimal viewing experience with easy reading and navigation and a minimum of resizing, panning and scrolling across a wide range of devices, from mobile phones to desktop computers.
"According to research from the Electronic Transactions Development Agency, more people spend time online via mobile devices, both smartphones and tablets, across screen sizes. Responsive web design is needed to get customers to visit websites with a good experience," he said.
Only 10 per cent of the 2.9 million SMEs in the country are benefiting from having an online presence. Google aims to help encourage the rest of them to go online as well as to accelerate all SMEs to get the most benefits from all services and platforms of Google for online marketing.
As Google's reseller, the company also aims to go in the same direction.
The readymade Web service's strategy is to approach both the local and Myanmar markets.
"We aim to have 4,000 new customers in Thailand and get at least 300 customers in Myanmar," he said.
Online ads are also an emerging flagship service for ReadyPlanet. From being a partner with Google as the reseller of Google AdWords, the online advertising of Google, this year the company will become the local online ad agent for both giant search engine Baidu and Facebook.
According to the Digital Advertising Association, online ad spending in Thailand is expected to increase 38.08 per cent to Bt5.86 billion this year. Google's AdWords and Facebook's ads play a key role in this area.
For Baidu, the company plays a role as the Baidu Search Engine Marketing official reseller in China, which has 550 million Internet users.
"Training is important to get our customers to thoroughly understand online marketing and advertising. We also provide training for all customers and to dedicatedly provide online marketing consulting services for enterprises, so that they can get the most benefits from online marketing and advertising," he said.
