Publication Date : 28-11-2012

TAIPEI: Taiwan ranks third in condom usage out of 37 countries, according to a survey on sexual well-being by condom maker Durex. Seventy-two per cent of Taiwanese men who participated in the survey said they used condoms the last time they had sex. This figure was only below those in China and Hong Kong. Taiwanese Association of Andrology President Wang Chi-chieh said that it is normal for people who don't have long-term sexual partners to wear condoms. Among those who have regular sexual partners, however, condom usage is only about 20 per cent, Wang said. According to the survey, 55.8 per cent of Taiwanese men wore condoms the first time they had sex, ranking 10th. It also showed that condom usage among those with at least a college degree was about 2.3 times higher than among those without.
