Publication Date : 25-09-2013
Pakistan and France have decided to enhance the economic, trade and development partnership under the framework of ‘Pak-France Administrative, Economic and Trade Committee’ whose inaugural session was held on Tuesday.
The macroeconomic situation of both countries was reviewed in the meeting and the participants expressed confidence that expected growth in both economies would help improve trade and investment relations.
Marie-Cecile Tardieu-Smith, head of Bilateral Economic Relationships at the French Treasury, led the French delegation which included the country’s ambassador in Pakistan, Philippe Thiebaud, and Country Director of French Development Agency Denis Cassat.
The Pakistani team was headed by Secretary Economic Affairs Division Nargis Sethi, who welcomed the French delegation and appreciated the “excellent relationship between the two countries”.
She briefed the delegation about the government’s agenda for economic and social development which she said would bring prosperity for the country’s people.
Sethi also appreciated the continued French assistance to Pakistan, especially in the energy sector.
