MAS to increase capacity for Brunei
Publication Date : 19-08-2013
Malaysia Airlines (MAS), recently announced that it increased the capacity in and out of Bandar Seri Begawan to meet the growing demand for the route.
In a press statement issued, the national carrier said it replaced four-weekly B737-400 services with by B737-800 flights effective yesterday, increasing capacity by 11 per cent.
"The capacity increase is made possible as we are not deploying the 160-seater, 737-800 aircraft on this route instead of the current 144-seater 737-400 aircraft," said MAS district manager Zainal Abidin Sulaiman.
He added that this move was taken due to increase in demand.
"We are confident that upgrading this service and improving our in-flight services further on this route will further continue to drive revenue and loads", he added.
All-in return economy class fares to Kuala Lumpur starts from BN$246 (US$193). MAS first started its operations to Bandar Seri Begawan in 1972.
