Publication Date : 30-11-2013

According to a report by the Daily Telegraph, Siti Aishah Abdul Wahab who is one of three women held "captive" by a couple in London, has told her sister Kamar Mautum that she has been happy and loved during her time in London.

The two sisters had not spoken for 45 years since Aishah moved to London. Siti Aishah cut off ties with her family and has only just learned that their mother passed away in 1994.

Siti Aishah is believed to be in hospital after suffering a stroke.

The two sisters hugged and cried at their meeting, Kamar Mautum said her sister insisted that she had been happy and had a lot of friends in London.

“When I asked her about what had gone on she just clammed up. The only thing she wanted me to perceive is that she is happy. She told me, ‘I have got friends here, I work here. I do important work here’, but she could not reveal what it was she did,” Kamar told Daily Telegraph.

Siti Aishah also promised that after the investigation was over she would come to Malaysia. It is learnt that she is no longer fluent in Malay.

The meeting was attended by around 10 police officers and Malaysian High Commission representatives.

Meanwhile, activist Hishamuddin Rais, who flew to the UK with Kamar, told a news portal that Siti Aishah is now denying being enslaved and was happy in the UK. According to Hishamuddin, Siti Aishah is not keen to return to Malaysia on a permanent basis.
