INDONESIA POLLS: Jokowi still tops Prabowo, latest survey shows

Jakarta-based pollster Charta Politika has found that the electability of team Joko “Jokowi” Widodo-Jusuf Kalla has reached 49.2 per cent, while rival pair Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa stood at 45.1 per cent, with 5.7 per cent of the voters still undecided.
"According to our survey, 78.8 per cent of voters already have firm choices, while 12.3 per cent say they want to change vote and 8.9 per cent do not know who to vote for,” Yunarto Wijaya of Charta Politica said as quoted by kompas.com on Tuesday.
Yunarto said the survey had also captured people’s perceptions of each candidate.
According to the survey, 33.6 per cent of people considered presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto as a decisive person, while 24.8 per cent saw him as a soldier or general.
Meanwhile, 26.2 per cent of voters considered presidential candidate Joko “Jokowi” Widodo as a modest person, while 22.5 per cent associated him with blusukan (impromptu visits).
Further, 29.9 per cent of voters remembered vice presidential candidate Hatta Rajasa as a minister, while 18.5 per cent viewed him as “having gray hair”.
As much as 47.2 per cent of voters saw vice presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla as a former vice president, while 12.9 per cent remembered him as a Golkar Party member.
On July 3-6, the pollster conducted direct interviews with 1,200 voters randomly, with a 2.83 per cent margin of error, as well as a 95 per cent level of trust.
