Publication Date : 12-08-2014

National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has increased its Jakarta - Kuala Lumpur flight service from twice to three times daily to enhance connectivity to Malaysia and to fulfill traveler demand.

"Throughout last year, we flew around 1.9 million passengers between Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur and we predict this year we will see a passenger rise of 3 percent to 2.025 million," Garuda sales and marketing director Erik Meijer said in a statement made available to The Jakarta Post on Monday.

The carrier uses its Boeing B737-800 Next Generation (NG) aircraft for the flight service, which has a capacity to transport 156 people, comprising 12 business class seats and 144 economy class seats.

Meijer hoped the additional frequency would boost economy, trade and tourism relations between the two countries. "The new frequency will also give customers more travel time options ," he added.
