Galaxy S4: Will it justify the hype?
Publication Date : 13-03-2013
March 14 will be a big day for both Samsung and fans of the Galaxy lineup, as the Galaxy S4 is set for its first public appearance in New York City.
The latest model will be unveiled less than a year after the previous S3 was launched.
But the hype has built up so much since it was first rumoured that Samsung would be releasing another model ― almost immediately after the S3 came out ― that, for some, the S4 may already seem old.
Nevertheless, for those of us still scratching our heads about the specs of this up-and-coming gadget, here are some clues.
The screen will be bigger, possibly the 4.99-inch Super AMOLED screen that was spotted at the Consumer Electronics Show this year. This would make the S4 slightly bigger ― but those millimeters count ― than the 4.8-inch S3.
As for the operating system, the Jelly Bean ― yet another Android platform named after a sweet ― is the name of the game.
Pundits say a brand new way of typing will be introduced, but that’s about all we know.
Now, the eight-core processor is a key component for the S4, and we’re talking about the Exynos 5 Octa eight-core processor, which would make the latest Samsung phone a pretty powerful device.
Eye tracking may also be embedded in the S4, meaning essentially that the screen would automatically scroll with the movement of your eyes.
All in all, the day when the history of smartphones will once again be rewritten is coming soon.
