Malaysia will continue to be one of OKI Data Corporation’s biggest customer in the region.

The counrty now accounts for 42% of the Japanese company’s Southeast Asia’s market.

OKI Data president Takao Hiramoto said he is confident that OKI printers would continue to make its mark, in Malaysia, for this year as they had in the past.

He said the company recorded good sales in 2013 and expected the business to grew even better this year.

“OKI Data has been in Malaysia for nine years and I am pleased that we are doing very well,” Hiramoto said to Malaysian journalists at OKI Data’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan

Founded in 1994, Oki Data Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Oki Electric Industry Company Ltd.

OKI has become known for using LED technology in its printersfor more than 30 years, said Hiramoto

Over the years, OKI has achieved steady growth in the existing market catering for general users with its desktop printer range.

“We are aggressively gearing towards the office solution market with a wide variety of single-function printers and printers based on multi-function devices labelled the Executive Series.

“New models are featured with Smart Extendable Platfrom (sXP), which is an open application programming interface platform for which an expanding suite of solutions is available through OKI.

“Using this platrom, customers and solution partners can easily integrate these printers into their work environment, adding customised solutions to meet specific business and further increase productivity and cost efficiency.

Besides that, Hiramoto said OKI would put more emphasis in developing products and solutions for the professional market that is demanding ever-higher speeds and performance printing solutions.

In recent years, he said, OKI has made remarkable breakthroughs in printing that include the introduction of the industry’s first five-colour digital LED A3 printers, and the C941dn, a five-station color digital LED A3 printer.
