Cambodia has been selected to host the general assembly of the World Tourism Organisation in 2015, Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism said.

A statement said Cambodia would also host a regional conference of the Madrid-based agency in December.

The agreements were reached during a meeting of Asean tourism ministers with their counterparts from China, Japan and South Korea, part of a week-long series of meetings in Vientiane concluding today.

Asean ministers agreed separately to appoint Cambodia to chair the Asean Tourism Integration and Budget Committee for 2013-2015, the statement said.

The ministers also endorsed an Asean Clean Tourist City Standard based on the Cambodian standard comprising seven basic indicators, 28 detailed indicators and 108 criteria, it said.
