Amway visit to help boost revenue in Taiwan
Publication Date : 05-03-2013
Approximately 12,000 Amway employees from mainland China are slated to visit Taiwan in March and April, which will help generate an expected NT$1.1 billion (US$37 million) for the island.
Martin Liou, managing director of Amway Taiwan Co. Ltd., said that the theme of this year's visit is 'authenticity'.
Visitors will be treated to cuisine prepared by three of Taiwan's five-star hotels, including the Sheraton Taipei, the Grand Hotel, and the Westin Taipei, as well as three Michelin-recommended food and beverage establishments - Din Tai Fung, renowned for its xiaolungbao, Du Hsiao Yueh, famous for its Tainan noodles, and tea house Chun Shui Tang.
The Sheraton Taipei will be staging a large-scale outdoor banquet, which is considered a unique feature of Taiwanese culture, at Taipei RV Camp, serving up to 2,400 Amway employees at once. The budget for each table is currently set at NT$25,000, which, when including kitchenware, will lead to an estimated cost of more than NT$30 million.
Sheraton Taipei's banquet will be opened with a special performance by the celebrated Ming Hwa Yuan Taiwanese Opera Company.
