Seven militants have been killed in a US drone strike in the Babar Ghar area on the border of North and South Waziristan Agency, intelligence sources said.

The drone fired two missiles on a house, destroying it completely. Five others were also injured, sources said.

Sources said that the fatalities included two al-Qaeda senior leaders and four Uzbek nationals.

The al-Qaeda leaders that were killed include Abu Majid al Iraqi and Sheikh Abu Waqas, who is from Yemen.

Abu Waqas was the group’s bombs and explosives expert. Sources also said that the compound was full of TTP (Taliban) figures, who were having dinner at the time of the drone attack.

The area is inhabited by Hakimullah Mehsud-led TTP fighters and other foreigners.
